Can any one please help me out in this regard.
I have taken backup using amanda on a virtual tape library.
How to restore the contents back.
If i check the file type it is showing as character Computer Graphics Metafile.

I am working on amanda backup & restore software.I am facing a problem in
taking *"MULTI VOLUME BACKUP"*
My configuration to do this is added the below things in *amanda.conf* file.
*define dumptype user-tar-span {
root-tar
tape_splitsize 1 Gb
comment "tape-spanning user part
free kps: 300
holding space : 0k ( 0.00%)
0 dumpers busy : 0:00:09 ( 97.48%)not-idle: 0:00:09 (
100.00%)

.debug* file for restore is not created in */tmp/amanda* directory.
