Hi. How current is the info on the wiki about compiling Amanda for
AIX? It mentions that amanda-2.5.0p2 is the latest compilable version,
as opposed to 2.5.1 and 2.5.2 which don't work, but has there been any
progress on that since 2.6.x came out?
Thank you

Title: Compiling Amanda on AIX 5.1
Hi
I'm trying to compile amanda 2.4.4p1 on AIX 5.1 using gcc 2.95.
Unfortunately, it doesn't compile. The following is the output that I get.
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../config -I./../regex-src -q32 -D_LARGE_FILES -qlonglong -q32 -D_LARGE_FILES
does anyone know from where can I download AMANDA (backup software) for IBM
AIX 5.1L (PowerPC)system? It is available on AIX 4.1 and 4.3but I
could'nt see for version 5.1L? any related information on this is
appreciated.
THANKS!

I think you have some serious problems with your compiler installation,
and you should probably find some help with the (e.g. from the

Rick,
For what it's worth, I just used gcc and other GNU tools such as automake,
autoconf, etc. Amanda compiled and works fine using these tools. You can
get them from IBM at the following address:

This looks like something Thomas Hepper will have to help you with.
It appears to be a general changer interface routine that is not yet
supplied for AIX.

My tapeserver runs AIX4.3.2, and two of the clients I back up run
AIX4.3.3. I back up about 40GBs a night, and everything works great.
