One common cause for this is the estimate timeout in amanda.conf is
not large enough. What are the first few and last few lines of the
/tmp/amanda/sendsize*debug file on the client?
Compute how long it took to do the estimates. Then
It HAS worked *sigh* I dunno

I understand thatthe server cannot back-up itself. What does amcheck says?
Olivier
I appreciate all the help I have recieved from this group so far, all the
explanations you have given are great.
The amdump process runs now and it completes, however when I get the report
about what it has done... I get..
These dumps were to tape Daily09.
The next tape Amanda expects to use is:
/dev/ch0,
/dev/nrsa0, /dev/sa0, /bin/chio/, /usr/local/libexec/amcheck, etc., all to
no avail.
I need to know what to change to allow user operator to run amcheck, etc.
Or should I just run with user root? Isn't that a security no-no?
Please, please help me. I'm desperate (and oh so close)!!!
