When redoing my environment recently I decided to use pre-built binaries where possible.
I wasn't really expecting to find a good pkg for my x86 Solaris 9 system. But there it was, an Amanda 3.1.1 package on openCSW. I installed it and it has worked flawlessly for a few weeks now.
