Wow, just when I thought the world was my oyster (AMANDA-ly speaking), I
hit a roadblock that I can't stumble past.
I have a tapeserver I'll call 'basecamp' with AMANDA up and ready to
serve. I have a NIS+ server which needs to be backed up (which I'll call
'xena'). Through much trial and
Figured it out. I had to use the 'nispopulate -F services' command after
I put the amanda[tab]10080/udp line in the file (which was in
/etc/nis+/files, not /etc/). Turns out that even the server running it
must have it 'populated' although it's sitting on the same box as the
config file.
