Hello,
I have a Tandberg LTO2 Superloader attached on an Adaptec 39160D and the
chg-scsi returns: amtape: could not load slot Can't: read MTE status
Example:
$amtape CAPCom update
amtape: scanning all 16 slots in tape-changer rack:
slot 0: date 20031211 label CAPCom01
amtape: could not load slot C
Hi, I'm an amanda newbie running it on a Solaris 8 server with a Sun
STORedge L9 tape drive and controller (that's actually a Quantum DLT
8000 tape drive coupled with HP Changer robotics).
The problem I have is with the tape changer, it seems that amcheck,
amtape and other programs don't under

When it happened to me, it was caused by incorrect permissions and
user:group for /dev/sg1 the generic SCSI device file for the changer.

Do you mean kernel 2.6.1? If so, that's somewhat out on the bleeding
edge and it's still gonna have some kinks in it. Can you drop it
back to a 2.4 kernel & test?

I didn't have that file. Where should it be created, in the same

are fine, as are the automatic tape changes; I can get at all of my
backups manually with dd and tar. However, amrestore is not happy.
