Which only means that the holding disk is full. Amanda handles that
just fine and falls back to direct to tape, assuming there is a tape
in the drive.

No, it has nothing to do with that. Amanda works perfectly fine under
such circumstances. Something else bad happened, and I've made several
suggestions of things for you to c

reading in and writing out - checksum failure?

Hello. I'm going to be setting up amanda in the near future on a bunch of
machines, and have a spare Seagate Scorpion. I was wondering if anyone had
any experiences with this device, and if it's well supported.
Its model number is STL696000N, and it's a DDS3 4-tape changer.
