Hello Folks, I'm getting weird timeouts with Solaris 2.7 clients but not with Linux clients. Here's the debug message: Amanda 2.4 NAK HANDLE 005-80C20708 SEQ 980329506 ERROR amandad busy Also, I'm finding that the backups are very slow compared to when done manually. I used to mount the directories by NFS and tar everything. It used to take only around 4 hours. With Amanda, 8 hours have gone by and it's still not half done. I've got the server and clients using the Amanda executibles from the same NFS mount. Would it speed things up if I installed everything locally on the client machines? Would this also get rid of the Solaris errors mentionned above? Here's a status output: SUMMARY part real estimated size size partition : 32 estimated : 19 37468030k failed : 21 17689270k ( 47.21%) wait for dumping: 1 8293590k ( 22.14%) dumping to tape : 0 0k ( 0.00%) dumping : 1 1292480k 3481650k ( 37.12%) ( 3.45%) dumped : 9 8004064k 8003520k (100.01%) ( 21.36%) wait for writing: 0 0k 0k ( 0.00%) ( 0.00%) writing to tape : 0 0k 0k ( 0.00%) ( 0.00%) failed to tape : 0 0k 0k ( 0.00%) ( 0.00%) taped : 9 8004064k 8003520k (100.01%) ( 21.36%) 3 dumpers idle : no-diskspace taper idle network free kps: 1970 holding space : 4906784k ( 58.49%) dumper0 busy : 0:01:46 ( 0.71%) dumper1 busy : 0:02:14 ( 0.90%) dumper2 busy : 0:03:06 ( 1.25%) dumper3 busy : 3:17:35 ( 79.61%) taper busy : 0:51:53 ( 20.91%) 0 dumpers busy : 0:50:25 ( 20.31%) no-diskspace: 0:50:25 (100.00%) 1 dumper busy : 3:14:40 ( 78.43%) no-diskspace: 3:14:40 (100.00%) 2 dumpers busy : 0:00:48 ( 0.33%) no-diskspace: 0:00:48 (100.00%) 3 dumpers busy : 0:00:48 ( 0.33%) no-diskspace: 0:00:44 ( 90.57%) start-wait: 0:00:04 ( 9.43%) 4 dumpers busy : 0:01:30 ( 0.60%) no-dumpers: 0:01:15 ( 83.67%) not-idle: 0:00:14 ( 16.33%)
