Last night was my first night on 2.5.0. This morning the log
said:
taper: FATAL syncpipe_get: r: unexpected EOF
I do nightly backups to disk then autoflush on Friday nights. Is
this error going to be a show stopper?

I'm seeing this as well.
I'm not familiar with the internals of amanda and have been doing some
hacking
If I try and run taper interactively.. and give a START-TAPER command:
$ /usr/lib/amanda/taper DailySet1
... debug buffer stuff ommitted ...
taper> START-TAPER 20060425
