Tape reuse

I was testing Amanda these days and I kept writing stuff into the tapes for testing purpose. After the testing was done, I want to reuse the tape for the real backup. Should I just need to amrmtape all tapes and rewind them using mt or I have do somthing else? Also, what is the difference
