Hi Myriam and others,
I have pushed the working branch to replace QTScript:
https://invent.kde.org/kde/amarok/-/tree/replace_Qtscript_with_QtQml
About my PPA, I was using 2.9.1* for the candidate packages. This may
have caused confusion, soI have changed the versioning of my snapshots
to 2.9.70*.

Hi Heiko and others,
I started a branch to port from QTScript to QJS*. It's gonna be quite
some work, and I don't even have a compiling version yet. I tell this
so we avoid duplicated work. I may push the branch to Gitlab whenever
someone wants to join the effort.
So far I have identified few poi
Hi Jonathan,
I have just fixed the issue with Mariadb 10.1 and now it compiles fine
at Ubuntu 18.4 LTS. The attached docker file for Neon in case you

Oh yes I didn't realise libmaridadb actually just installs with the same
name of libmysqld.
Compiling with mariadb 10.1 on the current Ubuntu LTS I get a compile error
but with mariadb 10.3 on the about to be released Ubuntu LTS it compiles
fine.

Hi Heiko,
Thanks for the input. I like the idea of the alpha release. First,
because I think that Amarok is already at a usable state. But also to
make it clear that Amarok is not EOL.
About MariaDB: I haven't checked out the 10.5 branch. But I downloaded
the official binaries, and it no loger ha

For KDE neon we're about to move to a new Ubuntu LTS base which seems to
have mariadb 10.3
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mariadb-10.3
So this should work for us but I don't think the current Amarok master
builds against mariadb so I've not been able to compile it to test.

I went after Mariadb's plans for the embedded library. I couldn't find
any mention
