I have installed amavisd 2.6.4 and the perl 5.12.3 and when i run the
command below
#/usr/local/sbin/amavisd -u amavis debug
to check it functionality it returns
ERROR: MISSING REQUIRED BASIC MODULES:

Unix::Syslog
MIME::Words
MIME::Head
MIME::Body
MIME::Entity

how? depends on your platform. cpan if your platform doesn't support it.
if you do it wrong, you mess it up.
go ask over on the os group for your platform.
