I am using CentOS and it works well. I found that you have to use
rrdtool-1.50 and not the new one rrdtool-1.2xx
Then it should work,

Unfortunatelly graphs are not created even thoguh rrd's were created.
There are errors like mavis-stats::error: rrd_graph()2: 1 and so on, no
labels and so on.
I would say the problem is with php5 cause I've used this
