I took a quick look at the spreadsheet, it has something that is very
different than what you have described
I think it goes something like sell if the close is certain % below the
highest high since the last buy, and buy if it is certain % above the lowest
low
since the last sell.

I have noticed with AB 4.904 that when you type a ticker in the select
ticker box, And the ticker doesn't exist AB now "Creates" a new symbol.
Anyone know how to turn this off?
Have looked in prefs, But found nothing relevant.
Paul,
Thanks for the help, unfortunately this doesn't match up with any of
the signals when compared to excel and also doesn't match up with
other sources who post this system. Now I just have to figure out why.
I appreciate your help and this has given me other ways to test.

Hi Rick,
Yes, what I do is just install over the old one and then redownload
the data. This takes care of new symbols, deletions, changes in
symbols, etc.
Thanks,
Jim

BTW I noticed that you start taking margin loans immediately instead of
waiting until all initial cash has been exhausted, correct? My broker

Single bar exposure is
(Value of all currently open positions)/(Total Equity)
(where total equity is value of all open positions plus all available funds).
Now this single bar exposure is summed up for all bars and divided by number of
bars
to get system exposure.
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko
It works fine, see this sample:
IndustryID(1); // SELECTED SYMBOL industry
SetForeign("MSFT");
IndustryID(1); // MSFT industry

Backtester will give correct results if it is as you trade
What the code will not supply is correct in real time trade signals
with future bars referenced (eg with scan) for last bar of data

If I already have your database installed from about a month ago, do I
install this over that, or must I delete the old database and have to
redownload all the back data for all the symbols from Yahoo?
In other words, what is the best way to update and take advantage of any
changes you have made?
Thank You! I now see the symbols in the correct Watchlists.

Tomasz - does this work in indicators? I can not find anything in the
documentation or this forum which says it does not work in indicators,
yet that is what appears to be the case. Please advise.
thanks,

Hi Dave,
Thank you for the Applystop explanation as I have struggled with the
proper use of Applystop and this helps a lot.
One more question if I may. Is it possible to have both of these
statements
ApplyStop(stopTypeLoss, stopModePoint, myStop1, 1);
ApplyStop(stopTypeProfit, stopModePoint,
Is it possible or do you plan for it to be possible to import data
into the new account manager from an external source such as a file of
trade confirmations or directly from the broker such as IB?

To combat lag in MAs' you can adopt any of the following methods:-
[1] Use Hull MA based on the work of Alan Hull.. Search the archives , it
has been discussed recently and in the past.
[2] Start studying the work of JM Hurst. Not a task thats going to be

Its length is DYNAMIC (may change from execution to execution)
