It is easy. Do you have a csv or tls file with tickers in first column? If
so, then open AB, go to watchlist, erase watchlist with mouse, import into
watchlist from your csv or tls file via mouse.

Sure. Place tickers you want in first column of either csv (via Excel) or tls
(via Text editor or AmiQuote). Open AmiBroker, go to watchlist, right click
and erase. Then, right click and import from the csv (or tls) file you created.

The scan file is probably calling the old WatchList file. You may need
to edit the scan file to change the WatchList file being called.

Alan,
thanks for your help.
Again I made some progress (g).
I did what you suggested. I went to ANALYSIS and then DEFINE and unselected the
old ticker file and selected the new one. Seemed to be working fine. BUT: The
analysis is NOT done on the new file, it is still done on the OLD file. I ca
Go to menu bar across the top of AB and select Analysis then select
Automatic Analysis.
In the Apply to section click "use filter" then click on the "Define"
button.
In the Filter settings dialog box click the "Clear" button.
Click the "Watch list:" white space and scroll down to the WatchList y
Alan,
thanks for your help.
I got a little further:
Your guess was right: AQ could not read the file because at the end of each
symbol the "comma" was missing. After inserting a comma after each symbol, at
least I have the list now in AQ and saved it in the WATCHLIST location of AB.
Unfortuna
I tried the steps on this end as I wrote them and all worked well here.
It must be the ASCII file. Does the tickers have a comma after each one?
If not add the comma and try again.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately it did not work.

No, the ticker file (in ASCII) did not open. I copied (the ASCII file) again
under a different name and repeated. Same result. Does not open.
Hm, I wonder why it is S d
One more thing. You may have to close AmiBroker and reopen it to see the
new WatchList.

Sorry I thought you wanted to update the list with a few changes.

Hi Alan,
thanks for your comments.
I did what you proposed.
I got that far: Yes, I found the watchlist and AmiQuote opened.
Unfortunately I can not save a whole "new file" (which I have in ASCII as a
separate file) in AQ. It only gives me the option to type in the new symbols
one by one (comma
Go to C:\Program Files\AmiBroker\
Find the database that you use with AmiBroker and double click on it.
Scroll down to WatchLists and double click on it.
Find the WatchList you want to update and double click on it. This will
open your WatchList in AMIQuote. From here you can update your list.

Hi Alan and Bistrader.
Thanks for the comments.
My old data are in a watchlist. I do not mind putting them into a database
either. If this is more convenient.
Just HOW ?
Thanks.

You can load tls and csv via Amiquote (AQ). Both are txt files. Both work
even though tls is the standard.
One way it to copy and paste your Word tickers into Excel, make sure all
tickers are in column A with nothing else in column B, etc.,and then save as
whatever.csv. Then, open in AQ and
