In the cannon laser jet SX series printers released as HP Laser Jet II, and
other brands as well, there is a solenoid device which releases a clutch
which then allows the paper pickup rollers to move paper through the
printer. These devices have a felt pad between the armature and the pole
piece w
Demagnitize the solenoid. Probably had DC applied at some time.
Couldnt hurt.
Good luck es 73, Charlie, K0NG ..

Thanks Mike the Mod-U-Lator for the input. Thanks Mike for the tape
idea. I tried the piece of cellophane tape and the relay buzzed way too
much, so I moved on to other ideas. What I finally found was a brass
washer out of place on the back of the coil where it attaches to the
frame. It see
Although that is a good place to look, I think 15 seconds is pretty long for
residual magnetism to hang on. What I have found and maybe the case with
your relay is the 'lid' that keeps the solenoid in place is easily bent.
There may be a deformation or something there abouts that would prevent i
Sounds right to me, Mike. Thanks, I'll give it a try.
