Nope, you're sure not. My Radio Electronics instructor tired of people fiddling with things on his desk in the lab and set a charged can capacitor on it. It wasn't long before we heard the yelp and then the laughter from Mr. Cannon! No! It wasn't me. Of course, that was the early 60's, you'd

In high school we used to play a variation of "chicken" using a telephone magneto. Several people would join hands in a circle, except for two who would each grab one hand onto a wire attached to one of the terminals of the magneto. Then an "assistant" would start cranking the magneto - slowly

I see your motor is a little more "Serious" than mine! LOL Good luck finding it. If it is intermittent, you may be able to locate the problem. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Bow W5EFR -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rick Brashear

If it works that's what counts! Mine has an oil port, but it didn't seem to help. Thanks, Rick Mine was a Telechron... In mine, I ended up taking the smallest drill bit I can find, drilling a small hole in the top of the case and put sewing machine oil in there, then solder the hole closed.

HI Mike, Thanks for the tips. It's a Synchron Model 610, 3 Watt, 2 RPM, CW rotation, Type A (four hole mount). I took the motor off the mechanism and it still doesn't run consistently. It may have some more crud in the internal gearbox. I'll try cleaning it again. 73, Rick/K5IZ Rick, M

Rick, Most of the time with the Synchron motors it is the drive and not the motor. Dust dirt get lodged in the gears and lock the motor up. Try removing the motor from the drive, usually held in place by 2 #4 screws. Once that is done, remove the back of the motor and apply power. You should

Not a stupid question at all, Bow. It goes in a timer relay for a GE BT-20-A broadcast transmitter. It provides a 30 second delay before you can apply B+ to the circuitry. It's the old fashioned way of doing it! I cleaned and oiled it, but it's still intermittent. Sometimes it'll start and som

Possibly a stupid question, but.. What is it for? What is wrong with it? The reason I ask is because I restored a Zenith Clock Radio (1953 era) and had to get the clock motor running again, which I did with success. Bow W5EFR -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAI
