Jim,
This meter/inlet panel is on the outside of the attached office
building. The distro panel it feeds is turned off via the main breaker
since the building is vacant at this time. The the much larger power
drop and panel for the main building where my workshop/storage is
located is on the
This does not sound like BPL Noise to me. However I understand some new
meters transmit their readings to the power company using the power lines.
If this is not the case you may have a faulty meter or problem in the
connections inside the box. I would call the power company. Can you

Hello,
I just finished cleaning and some repairs to my main HF receiver and
put up a longwire inside the large old factory room outside of my new
workshop location.
Being inside a building is really not the best thing but this is
temporary and it's an old 4 story 100 yr old mill built mostly
I currently have a Mirage solid-state linear that will do 150W output.
There is no point in acquiring the tube amp, if it will do the same job.

I would rather run two 6LQ6's on 6m, as the interelectrode capacitance would
probably be too high on 6 with 3 tubes.I had one once with a 6JG6 taking 2
watts and driving a pair of 6LQ6/6JE6's to 70 watts out on 6m.That was on
ssb. On AM, I would expect no more than 50 watts and cool it well with
I'm considering acquring a disused CB amplifier which uses 3 6LQ6's in the
final (driven by another). The input is cathode driven. I will modify this
unit for 6M operation.
The question I have is what is the typical output of a 6LQ6?
