Once again I'd like to ask for the group's help in finding a CORRECT schematic
for a rig I'm trying to breath some life back into. Will gladly pay copying &
postage costs.
I've had no luck at all finding the "correct" schematic for my SWAN 500C
(serial# I 246515).
It's the one with the 3-posi
I was taking a look back-in-time thru the catalog section in the 1957 ARRL
Handbook and saw the ad for a Hallicrafters SR-1000 HF station. It included a
SX-101 receiver, HT-32 xmtr and a HT-33 amplifier all housed in a beautifully
styled, slanted-front, metal (free-standing) desk/cabinet.

Hello all. I'm hoping some of you reading this can give me an "online
ordering" supplier for small quantities of round perforated aluminum sheet. I'd
like to build a couple of RF final amplifier cages. Thanks, Bill, wd0x
First of all, many thanks to those of you who offered great advice on choosing
an o-scope to use in boatanchor troubleshooting. Your input was certainly
appreciated. Backed by popular vote, I've decided to buy a Tektronix 465 or
465M, dual channel, 100Mhz used scope that's clean and in good wor
I would like to add a vintage scope to my vintage test equipment bench to use
for general rf, af & if alignment and basic troubleshooting of boatanchor
amateur gear. I'd appreciate any recommendation on make & model and bandwidth

Would appreciate a recommendation as to make and model of a VTVM that will come
with an rf probe that is suitable for using when working on boatanchor gear. I
just need an idea of what to look for. Thanks, Bill, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Now that my Hallicrafters HT-37 has undergone it's cosmetic restoration
successfully, it's time to tackle the alignment.
It appears that someone before me has used the proverbial "golden screwdriver"
to align it before. There is practically no output on any band except 15 meters
(60 watts). T
Just an FYI that there is now an assembly/construction manual for the Valiant I
available on the BAMA website. I hope it is as helpful to those of you
restoring a Valiant as it was to me. Special thanks to Ken for scanning it for
me and placing it on his boatanchor archive web page. Bill, ab0zz
Just an FYI in case you are in need of a "new" (not a rewind) low voltage
power tranny for your Johnson Valiant transmitter.
I just received a custom-made transformer to replace the Low Voltage Power
Tranny (T2) in my Valiant I.

Could really use some help here from those of you who have had experience with
the Johnson Valiant xmtr. Three questions...
1) Why does the 1.6 amp slo-blo low voltage transformer primary fuse blow after
an hour or so of just sitting there with the filament switch on with no plate
