Hello all,
I am a vhf uhf microwave operator in the Phila. area. I have tried to
check into several 6M AM nets in Media, PA. and Washington, DC. The people
in Media couldn't hear me (only 15 miles away). I think Washington was too
far for AM ground wave. The participants in these activities
The model number is RCA 901769-501 and it has the original paperwork with
it. It says that the secondary current is .198 amperes, so I guess you need
2,500 volts to get 500 watts?? There was a page on the internet that said
max current for this beast is 450 ma., so I don't know if that is a

I have a 1940s vintage 500 watt modulation transformer made by RCA for
sale. It has 5700 (approx.) ohm P-P primary and a 5700 ohm secondary. I
would like $250 plus shipping. Local pickup near Philadelphia preferred.
I checked the windings and they have continuity. There is also another

Hi Brian,
I would be interested in one 1885, one 3885, one 7295 one 7290. Is
there any activity on 20 meter AM. If so, what is that frequency?

Hello,
Yes I know it says SSB on it, but it can do AM also. It is a 6 meter
transmitter from the 60s. I cannot find any info on the internet and was
wondering if anyone might have schematic, etc. for it.
Thanks, Paul WA3GFZ

Hello all,
I just acquired a Millen 90800 exciter and am looking for a readable
schematic and manual copies. The one on bama is pretty bad. Also looking for
the plug in coils or plugs. They are 5 in line pins mounted on a ceramic bar.
They are equally spaced at 1/2" centers. Also lookin
Hello gentlemen,
I have been enjoying the conversation here and I agree with Geoff. As a
relatively new AMer we need to find a hole and call CQ. The trick is that
the rest of us have to tune the entire band looking for QSOs.
I had an interesting experience a few Saturday evenings ago. Th

Hi Don,
I am interested in the Heathkit power supply and possibly the TC-2 tube
tester. Are they still available?

Hello All,
Would anyone happen to have or have the number for the connector for the
Navy TCS series receivers. The full cable assembly would also work.
Thanks,
Paul Sokoloff

Hello again,
I had no idea I was going to stir up such an interesting discussion. I
was the person who originally posted this. After reading all of the replies
and as a newcommer to this, I have one question. If one needs an 800 watt
amplifier to run 100 watts AM, then how does a Viking with

Thanks to all who answered my email. The radio is putting out about 60
watts in CW and AM. I was able to download the manual using WS ftp. Does
anyone know how to print the schematic from the DejaVue program? It's not
apparent to me. See everyone on the air.

Thanks Rick,
The jumpers are in place, but where do I connect the 110V antenna relay.
I have found HLR's mods etc.
Thanks,

Does anyone have a Viking Ranger schematic or complete manual as an emailable
file that they could send to me. I just acquired one and need the info. If
not, could someone give me the pinout for the rear connector so I can hook up
the antenna relay.
Thanks,
