I have found that a good rule of thumb for using linear amplifiers on AM without burning up the tubes is the max. carrier output from the linear should be no more than half the total CCS dissipaton of the tubes. Case in point the pair of 6146's at 20-25W carrier, etc. I run my National NCL-20
