We plan to use the V/U antenna with the Ericsson HTs (VHF and UHF) that were the original ham equipment aboard ISS. However, power hookups in Columbus differ from other parts of ISS and the Ericssons won't be operational until we can design, build, and fly a new power distribution box.

Hi Sat folks, Last evening at 0045 to 0054 UTC just right after dark here in Utah there was a pass of the ISS and the space shuttle that was spectacular to watch. The two were separated and the shuttle was trailing the ISS in orbit probably by several hundred miles. The sight was just awesome!

Ramsey actually has a pretty good low noise preamp for 70 cm and those are cheap. Takes about 15 minutes to assemble the kit. I do recommend replacing the fixed capacitor across the coil with a variable. That way you don't have to fiddle with bending the coil to tune it. You just set the
