We plan to use the V/U antenna with the Ericsson HTs (VHF and UHF)
that were the original ham equipment aboard ISS. However, power
hookups in Columbus differ from other parts of ISS and the Ericssons
won't be operational until we can design, build, and fly a new power
distribution box.
Kevin,
My personal best on an LEO is Norway to Japan - (FO-20 in 1997).
Depending whether you classsify AO-7 as a LEO bird - (with an orbital height of
1400Km) - the current record there
is 7500 - 7700Km, by several stations.
You may have been only interested in FM satellites, to9
Hi Sat folks,
Last evening at 0045 to 0054 UTC just right after dark here in Utah
there was a pass of the ISS and the space shuttle that was spectacular
to watch. The two were separated and the shuttle was trailing the ISS
in orbit probably by several hundred miles. The sight was just awesome!
HI, All,
I am looking for a good 70cm preamp for satellite operation. Kind of
urgent. Recommendations and sale are welcome.

Luc,
The ARISS VHF/UHF antennas were funded entirely by AMSAT-NA and some
volunteers. Would you you like to join the ranks of those who contributed? If
so you know how to contact Martha.
What are you implying here?
Of course you seemed to miss the part about the V and U antennas and the and
Heard UO-11 today on my 1732 utc pass. Was nice and strong. Been

Hello all,
UO-11 heard in the UK on the 09:20 pass.
I have a recording of the middle one minute of the pass (6 minutes after AOS).
It's not brilliant but someone might be able to decode it.
Let me know if you want the wav file.

I've been collecting telemetry from UO-11 for the last week or so. If anyone
is interested in decoding any, I will gladly send you the files I've
collected.

I'm also happy with ARR. I have not tried other typical amateur brands

Ramsey actually has a pretty good low noise preamp for 70 cm and those are
cheap. Takes about 15 minutes to assemble the kit. I do recommend replacing
the fixed capacitor across the coil with a variable. That way you don't have
to fiddle with bending the coil to tune it. You just set the
Hi all,
Just has the opportunity to view the ISS and shuttle, tagging along over Las
Vegas, NV. The shuttle was trailing approximately 22 seconds behind the
ISS. Now to calculate the distance. ;-)
