Just want to say that I missed the heck out of URI, I can not, still, by

Hi,
We are pleased to announce that we've released a new version of the app!
This now uses my Java port of John Magliacane's Predict SDP4 to support
the elliptical orbit CubeSats to be launched on VEGA.
The app is free and is available for download from the Android Marketplace.

Hi,
Glad it's being so well used.
I'm the new custodian of the code and we've got Juan Ranuarez to thank
for the idea and original code-base.
WRT landscape mode, that's already being worked on. It uses the built in
sensors to detect the rotation.
Take a look at the Roadmap on the site:
Peter,
An omni antenna with the current crop of LEO's is at the margin for an
effective station. A preamp will help substantially in two cases: 1) the
antenna and radio are far enough apart the RF losses in the coax cable degrade
the signal (and more importantly, the NF), or 2) your radio's
I have tried it on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and my wife's Kindle Fire. It runs ok
on both but is setup for smartphones and looks a bit sad on a tablet. It is
early days and I am sure they will re-work the user interface. I do not
want a phone that is smarter than me so I do not have a smartphone. I find

Hi,
We've targeted the small form factor of the rather a tablet, at the moment.
If there is enough interest we will make it multi-platform.
Yes, the next release (0.9) will have landscape capability, orientation
changed using the sensors. Again, targeted at phone use.
We've had a few people

+1 for Nook Tablet support. I'm using the old version on the Nook. It's
fine. The problem with the Nook right now is that shortly after the Nook
Tablet was released, BN released a firmware update that blocked the ability to
sideload applications (in other words, bypass the BN app store)
Thank you for the HamSatDroid. I am happy with it, nice features. Hope
to seem some new features that take advantage of the tablet format. I
use it on the Acer Iconia A500 tablet.

I second the comment about getting a switched one. Unless you have a
dedicated RX or have disabled the TX, you will certainly pop a RX only amp.
Its just a matter of when. Happened to me twice before admitting my
clumsiness.
I've had very good luck with the ARR switched amps. I have two for
