I also can confirm VO-52 was active, but I had to use an amplifier during
Field Day, with everyone using power it left my signal in the noise without
it.

W5MSQ (MoSQrpitos - Houston QRP Club) had six VO-52 contacts during Field
Day. Doppler was an issue plus our QRP ops, but no odd occurances. AO-07 was
better for us with 13 contacts. We were ready for Mode A on AO-07, but it
did not happen. No problems!

Does anyone know offhand whether the "guts" of any particular past or
present Yaesu rotor are a direct replacement for those of a G-5400B azimuth
rotor? I sent mine to Yaesu for an overhaul, and they returned it saying
parts were no longer available...

Must have been a hardware issue at your end, as VO-52 was quite active for
Field Day. Remember, its downlink is on 2 meters, while AO-27 and FO-29
downlink on 70cm, so hearing them would tell you nothing about your ability
to hear VO-52 (or not).

There was a ton of Field Day activity on VO-52 this year. I had no
problem making contacts for K6AA.
FO-29 also preformed very well this year on the passes I was on.
Poor old AO-7 was getting the daylights hammered out of her, and MANY
station were running WAY too much power.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if there are any plans for a 9600bd Pacsat in the near
future? It's my understanding that GO-32 may not be coming back to life
any time soon.

On Saturday, I was at around 2600-3200 ft elevation going through
Skyline Drive in Northern Virginia. I hadn't planned on working any
satellite passes since I was a portable station and not participating
in Field Day, but I stopped to listen to two AO-27 passes in the
afternoon.
The first pass, I
OOPS! Well we saw 12 FD sites logged onto the CQSRVR but after seeing no
return-CQ's from anyone else, I ased the author and around midnight he found
a glitch and all of the CQSRVR re-transmitted messages were all stuck at the
server!
So that explains why we all got ACKS and saw that our messages
