There's an article in October 2012 QST in which the author WA8SME speaks of
problems with this combination. Sounds like a timing problem or the like
and does not look to be readily fixable. I was going to try just that setup,
but will now add my 897 into the mix (when my laptop gets out of
Hi Dave,
The article describes a way to work through the single radio shortcomings for
satellite SSB operations. It's quite slick--push a small button, and the
uplink VFO is programmed to match the downlink you're tuned to.
The SATCAT kit by Mark WA8SME is going to be available through
Hello Dick,

SatPC32ISS - unfortunately doesn't support the FT-817 (see SatPC32ISS
menu ?, SatPC32ISS).
So, try the normal SatPC32. Make sure that the FT-817 display shows VFOa.

Hi!
Thanks again to all the hams who have been sending me checks to help
with the effort to bring Hector to the AMSAT Symposium later this week.
As of today, I have received a total of $935 from those checks. This
will cover almost half of what I estimate the total costs will end up

Hello Ted,
Has the frequency settled down on this? 800 or 825 ??
ISS digi is back on their usual 145.825 MHz frequency now. I just heard them
and had a packet QSO via .825 at 2100 UTC today over USA. There will be a
few more USA passes coming up this afternoon/evening.
I check
