I will be in Bangor, Maine on the morning of Sat., June 7th. I expect to be
able to drive a half hour north to activate FN55, if there is interest in that
grid.
I would be on the SO-50 pass around 1610 UTC with a pair of HTs and my trusty
Arrow antenna.
I can also activate FN64 on SO-50

Been getting antsy about satellites with amateur radio capability that
we can look forward to in the near future? Me too. So I looked around
the web to glean some tidbits about what might be on our horizons in
the near future if all goes well.
Here are the ham sats projected for 2013 that

I received this query in an email from Luis, LU6QI. Perhaps someone is
in a position to respond.
I am trying to attempt a qso with USA via AO7 or FO29. It could be
possible with some station from Florida, Do you know
who could be in conditions to make this try?

I've had recent Mode A success into Europe (Germany, France and
Italy), using a cut-down Radio Shack CB magmount whip. It's stuck on
to a large metal serving tray borrowed from the kitchen. I hide it
behind an easy chair in a corner of the shack.

Jeff:
I have not used an external 10M preamp yet, but I just got an ARR from
another op, so I'll be giving it a try. So far, I've used my FT-847
and the internal preamp. It has not been as consistent as Mode B, but
when the 10M signal is coming in, reception is usually fair to good. I

Hi Larry,
I'm over in Maine on vacation this week, near Acadia National Park.
I've got my HT and small yagi with me. I'd be glad to try for a QSO
with you. Just send me an email.

Hi All,
I've pasted a recent post from the IceBridge Twitter link at the end
of this email. It helps one to appreciate the conditions under which

Another Icelandic station Jon, TF1JI was active this morning on the
AO-51 pass @1010Z . He was running 50W into a vertical antenna and had
an excellent signal from Hvolsvollur, in the southern part of the
island.

Hi Rodney,
I only need two more states to complete the lower 48 on the LEOs
handheld, with my homebrew cheap yagi, Colorado and Wyoming, so I'd
love to catch you in WY on this trip. If we can do a sched that would
be great. Thanks!

Greetings to all,
I would like to let anyone who is interested in working Iceland know
that from Sept. 28 through Oct. 5th 2009 I will be operating every

Hi,
Wes, KP4WES; is the youngest ham in a family of hams. His father
Walter, WP4T; his mother Carmen, WP3PJ; and his 13 year old brother,
Walner, WP4NYS; are all active on the satellites. They can often be
heard at the beginning of the afternoon, AO-27 passes coming up from
the south.

Over the course of several trips to Maine this summer, I was able to
operate as a portable station with my usual rig (HTs and a homebrew
yagi) from three different grids. Mostly I was on Mt. Desert Is
(FN54), spent some time in Portland (FN43) and made a day-trip to
relatively rare FN63.
