I never really had the extra money but now I do. This would mainly be used
for the FM birds. Which do you like the best? The Elk or the Arrow antenna?
Going to order one in the next couple of days.

I had a bad day dialysis wise and I''m fixin to go to bed. I ordered a Elk
Antenna which should be here tomorrow or Sat. How much coax do you need to
hook it up? Also what kind?? I will see about mounting it on a camera
tripod I have, or hold it. I'm real excited about it.

Got my Elk antenna today its too bad I can't find time till maybe tomorrow
eveing to play with it. It looks really super. Any one use it on a tripod??
Trying to figure out ideas on how to mount it. Holding it in your had with
a lil extra PVC is fairly easy but off hand I don't see a way to do it o
Maybe I'm dreaming this but I thought I saw online somewhere a set of plans
or a article on building a copy of the Elk antenna. It was 9 elements and
seems like it used a square boom. Am I going totally nuts or just loosing
it?

Reading Howard's post about gtting his rig to follow each other. I use
a FT-857D for the uplink TX, and my FT-817 for the downlink. Wondering
how you get them to follow ech other? That would sure be easier than
what I do now. I'm a newbie and I'm having mixed results. For the FM
birds I just use
Say to make the puter control both my rigs don't they have to
connected in some way?? I do have a Signalink USB interface for digial
modes.

I was wondering is there a small 144/435 antenna? I'm open to ideas,
trying to come up with something simple cheap and fast. It would be
put at the 20ft level on my tower. At 25 ft level is a 9 el M2 2m yagi
but its not at a angle. I like the Elk cause it only has one feedline
but would not want
Has anyone seen the antenna for 2m in this monthsQST p. 30. Its a
omnidirection sorta a double diamond turnstile. I was wondering how
this woould work for the LEO Sats?? Would think it would be simple to

Right now it would have to be the FM sats. Rig would be my FT-60R and
Elk antenna.. Also it would have to be during the day while my wife is
at work.
How would I notify everyone? I'd hate to go some place and not work

I think I'm going to get a used Elk ant to mount on top of my 20ft
tower or at least would like to. It would go on the top of the lil
20ft tower and 5 ft above it would be a 9 el 2m yagi. The mast is
metal and I'm wondering how to mount it to the mast and mostly will
the metal mast work ok???
--
How far away from the mast on my tower should I mount my Elk?? The
mast is 2" steal anf the lk will be mounted horiz at a 15 deg angle.
