N6BIL developed a hardware widget (PIC and USB interface) for the Yaesu FT-736R
to work as a FT-847 (Hardware Emulator). That address some issues.

I am testing an FT-736R with the intention of selling it for the estate of a
SK here on Maui.
I have it running with PCSat32 and it tracks frequency as expected and I
have successfully heard myself on FO-29, AO-7 and VO-52, however I am unable
to tune the radio manually.
Am I doing something wron
