Hello
Just got off AO-7, it really sounds not too good. Weak and distorted audio.
Like not enough voltage from the 35 year old solar cells. Heard eveything from
response to a CME event to being in mode C to being hit by whatever. The audio
distortion does not depend on the uplink power,
Some days we are seeing very strange behavior in the AO-7. In some orbits can
only hear the feedback on the downlink when the satellite is approaching my
station at about 30 degrees elevation, before is impossible to hear any signal
via AO-7. Using two pre-amplifier, one in the TS 2000x and t
Hi folks,
Since starting my effort to work Europe on AO-7, I've found that the very low
elevation sigs vary significantly on different
passes. Some mornings I can easily hear my downlink and start working
Europe at 0.7 degrees elevation, while other days I can't hear myself
until 5 degrees el

Hi All,
We printed some CW telemetry from AO-7 at K4T during our trip. Just checked it
now, and it's back on loud.

Hello All,
Just heard AO-7's 70cm CW beacon sending valid telemetry (2010/03/14
07:25 UTC). Entering the data below into the spreadsheet gives a beacon
power output of 338mW. All else seems nominal.

I am copying a very strong carrier on AO-7 as I write this...
435.106MHz , no signs of modulation. Planet Emily latest reports show the
transponder might be off... I didn't listen for myself... have to swap co-ax,
but I was busy trying to figure out if the carrier were definitely the old

Hello friends,
Today in the 161.057 orbit of the AO-7 approximately 22:51 UTC our friend
Joe, K3SZH, managed to maintain a short QSO with Francisco Ramirez, PY2OV. The
distance between the two stations was 7738 km (4833 Miles). And with absolute
certainty the QSO could be extended by a grea
Congratulations Bob. You and Fedor managed to work a good distance via AO-7.
