reliable, if you have friends who also use aMSN and
the aMSNs exchange online lists ... so it could check
if a common friend is blocking you ...
possible ... but in reality i think it would not be
reliable and mostly not useful at all.

However, I like the feature but I heard that it is impossible to detect
because of how the protocols works. I have never checked deeply into it
but can someone confirm that detection is not possible today?
