Well in my opinion if you call it src, there should be only src, so no
dll files
Other then that, great work. I will test the fedora rpm as soon as
possible.

Then I guess it depends of everybody, personnally, if I download a
tarball I am used to compile what is inside ... but with a -src there is
no more doubt.
Better too much that not enough ;)

noone will download a tarball (or zip file) with the binaries... everyone
will use the website and download a package... so I don't think having a
binary tarball is a good idea.

What about a tarball -src and a tarball -bin ... then there is no doubt
And anyway ... if it is written in the README that they have to compile
or not ... that should be enough
in my opinion

yeah, but people are used to amsn not being compiled and most users install
with the tarball (because they know they don't need a .deb or .rpm),

by the way, I updated the windows installer... I had a little problem

Fixed the problem...
I added in the windows installer a link in programs->aMSN->"Configure
aMSN" that launches a one checkbox + ok/cancel buttons to add/remove the
auto-start...
Attached is the file I used...
Don't know if it's the best solution but still, it's the only way to do it

Yeah, I just don't know.. I think it should be rebuilt, that's just the
way it should be...
Anyways, I've created the installers, I'd like to have feedback about them
because I really am not sure
after all, I don't like bitrock installer that much :D they are in an

I also didn't know who it was until I saw the message...

Well yes...I don't understand why you still talk about it because we taged it on monday. Every thing commited after monday will be auto-updated, not included in the version. In the same way, I don't understand why people are calling for deadline for 0.95...The deadline was monday... That's already
Who the hell are you?
It's probably a kind of joke :P

well i thought the best way was to get a list of "keys that may be
non-used", and then trying to check every one of them by hand (i got
no time nor amsn-knowledge nor tcl/tk knowledge to do that, thought).
a good start could be that list, anyone could just search using
regex's... i'm sorry i can't
Yes, we do, but we don't want this to happen..
imagine you download the 'brand new' version, and as soon as you launch
it, "hey, you have to update".. wtf
unfortunatly, I think it's already going to be the case...
one thing though, I don't want lang keys to be updated whenever we commit

Hi,
I don't think you should use a grep on [trans] and [list local] and [list
global]... who knows, maybe someone once coded a [::trans ..] or maybe
someone had a [trans $sentence] with an if before to know whether to show
this or this sentence...
I suggest you just grep the key, no whatever
Yes, please do so, and send it to me by PM.
you can get it from

Well, I think the main question here is: are they going to drop support for
lower versions as they did once before, denying connection to such clients?
If not, then we shouldn't worry a lot. It'd be just another bump of the
protocol, and we will implement it as soon as we can. If it is the other
Hi boys and girls!
aMSN 0.95 is due to be released soon (sooner than you think...)
Please, we really NEED that you all finish any translations you have

and such things.
So, what I want you to do:

Don't forget aMSN now use auto-update, that's not too bad to have

it? So that shouldn't make any difference for the windows build?
If you want I can recompile it, but I can't do it till tomorrow.

On the contrary, I wrote the function but didn't put in any link to them. I
had asked if someone else would do it and forgot about it. So the
functionality should work, we just need to create a shortcut.
