I would say keep it because we'd need it for compiling in windows for
example, but do this :
1 - make it use libXYZ if found on the system, use the shipped one if not
found..
2 - make it use the shipped one for windows and mac binaries
3 - linux binaries should be built WITHOUT those libs stati
Yes, it's around 10 000$ a year (from which the government pays 80%
because I'm a Quebec citizen...)
and btw, almost all unis are like that, but poly is smaller so we can
really 'see it in action', but anywhere you go, you'll always be seen as a
money source, especially in this country contro

long story short, they made us pay for a 'special program' where laptops
were mandatory in classes and the laptops HAD to be the uni's laptops, for
which we had to pay alot (1500$ a year..) to RENT them (can't buy and we
had to rent thei
linflash is one thing amongst others.. we could probably ask about the
most common settings that the normal user would want to change but
wouldn't think of trying the prefs window... like maybe tabbed chatting
(although it is asked first time), or if he wants to enable sounds...
etc...

in a few words, Youness suggested that we add a "First-time
configuration wizard" that will ask the user if linflash works for his
WM. Go there for more info, I can't explain more atm, just writing in
order to not forget it :D
