Actually i think it is an amsn bug , cause sometimes even using normal
X , the icon disappeared or became strange. Take a look on the
attached image to see what i mean by strange.
Every other trayicons works ok , like azureus, amule , skype. I think
a refresh to the tryicon would make things bette
No matter who's at fault, what Alvaro said remains valid, this is a workaround
for a bug, the best thing to do is to fix the bug itself.
Make sure you have the latest SVN AND that you recompiled amsn (make clean
all).. if it still happens, then we'll see this issue as being valid.
Also, could you
I got something weird yesterday too. I had two amsn instances open (dunno
if it's relevant), something in my pc was causing high load, I tried to
close one instance and the other one got a weird trayicon - correct in
dimensions, but the icon was a cropped part of a larger version than what

Well, i got the bug on normal X with the latest version , doing
absoultely nothing. I turned off my monitor , went to college and when
i came back there it was the strange icon. And strange in X is
different of starange in XGL.
Take a look on the attachment. Looks like 3 amsn icons :)
Thanks all
First of all: you doing nothing with your PC does not imply that nothing
happens to aMSN. As said earlier in the thread: a contact changing his/her
state might also trigger the bug. So the chance to find the cause is bigger
when you are actually busy with your pc.
I recognize the bug myself too
Well , here at home i use dropiline gnome 2.14.3 , slackware current.
College use gnome 2.10 on debian [32 bits] and gnome 2.12 on fedora [64 bits]
Those i know have this problem. I never used KDE.
