Hi Folks, I would greatly appreciate any advice or tips that might help resolve this problem - thankyou in advance for taking the time to read and consider our problem. SITUATION: I've successfully installed Analog 4.90 beta 4 on a box running RedHat 7.0. Almost zero problems there - very straight-forward. One of the websites being analysed is moderately busy and we routinely expect between 1.3 and 2.2 million *pages* in a month. I successfully customized the form to allow me to select multiple log files from a set of files present on the server and have been successful when using it to analyse multiple files via the form interface. PROBLEM: However, once we try to analyse more than 6 or 7 months of data at a time, the length of time taken for Analog to process the logs extends beyond the 5 minute timeout period for web browsers and they return the dreaded "Unable to Contact Server" error. Meanwhile, Analog blissfully goes on and finished the analysis in the background, but with no output pipe, dumps the results somewhere into hyperspace. An individual month takes between 38s and 2 minutes to process. QUESTIONS: Does anyone know how to extend the browser timeout period ? Alternatively, has anyone tried to write some fancy sleight-of-hand scripting which will get around this ? I know we could run the lengthy reports from the command line and produce "canned" html for later display but I would really like our clients to be able to specificy ranges and perhaps file filters themselves via the form if they are interested in more specific analysis. All feedback very gratefully appreciated. Cheers, ajb.
