Hi,

I'm a newbie into the Android platform and MySQL database and
currently I'm undertaking a group project that involves connecting the
phone to the remote MySQL database that I have set up at server end.

I know that by now many people are going to tell me that I shall use
SOAP at server end and how bad of an idea it is to use JDBC connection
to the remote server directly. However I have no experience in PHP and
since this is a college group project we don't have much time from
beginning til the end-umm... actually just 6 weeks from scratch.

Therefore we are determined to make something that at least "works" by
the end. I know it's bad practice and many are going to yell at me and
stop me from doing this, but please do help out on this one,
performance is the least of our worries at this moment.

I wonder if there's any available JDBC driver to MySQL under android?
If so what's the proper way of including the driver into our source
code?

Thanks a lot!

Andy
