Is there a way to prevent Android SDK from being loaded into Eclipse
(more importantly, its presumed resource drain) when I work on non-
Android projects?
If it is, what happens if you go to project properties--builders and
de-select the android stuff. It worked for me.

When I use Eclipse to work on a non-Android project, specifically when
I expand the project tree, I see the following status message.
