If it is, what happens if you go to project properties-->builders and
de-select the android stuff. It worked for me.

This is a known issue and on our list to fix. We agree that with more and
more platforms in the SDK this is really becoming a problem.
What you could do is use a different workspace for your non-android work and
not set the location of the Android SDK in it. This way it won't load
anything.

When I use Eclipse to work on a non-Android project, specifically when
I expand the project tree, I see the following status message.
