Sounds like you don't wait long enoughf for the emulator too boot up you see
the boot message and that can take several seconds.

I have no idea but as a tip don't close it down when you make changes to the
code that saves you the long boot time. But actualy the phone takes also so
long to boot. When I turn my adv on it takes up to 30 seconds or more
