[android-developers] Why were the command line tools deprecated ?

I just saw this page link : https://developer.android.com/studio/tools/help/android.html At the top it claims that the command line tools were deprecated and that we are forced to use that POS Android Studio to do our development. What is the deal with this ? Building software should be IDE
