*Position: ETL/SQL DeveloperLocation: Phoenix, AZ**Duration: 12 Months contract* • Need candidates who have resourcefulness and initiative. Someone who understands clinical *healthcare *data. Hiring manager has an evaluation test to narrow down the top candidates *OTHER JOB NOTES:* DAY IN THE LIFE - Primary focus is processing data but not all *ETL *work; there is a web tool uses stored procedures to make reports work; 30% reporting; 50% ETL; the other is query, meetings, reqs gathering etc; Experience or foundational understanding of *Hadoop *is needed; A developer who has been through a platform migration - going from SQL data currently in a cloud and will be moving to Open Source using Hadoop/Pig - from *SQL *server to Hadoop; Experience as a DBA- someone who can make volume recommendation is a nice to have *MUST HAVES* – *SQL* *NICE TO HAVES* – Hadoop & Pig; experience as a DBA *TRAVEL* – no travel; onsite 4 days a week; Friday work from home however people may be pulled in on Fridays occasionally - once or twice per year or an occasional Saturday during a security update. *INTERVIEW* - 1st phone screen; 1 hour on site in person - technical and data analyst ability, team work, soft skills *JOB DESCRIPTION* Selected candidate MUST be onsite here in Phoenix, AZ. Travel should be less than 10% 3-6 years ETL with MS BI stack (SSIS and SSRS), experience writing stored procedures for web applications, data analysis + B.S. Information Technology, Computer Science or Health Care * Comprehensive experience with MSBI stack required; expert SSIS development skills * Strong skills in SQL scripting and previous experience writing stored procedures for web applications * Requires at least 2 years development experience creating and maintaining ETL in a *hospital *or *medical *related industry * Strong understanding of ETL, architecture, data loads and data extracts and mapping * Experience moving data through data warehouse environments and across platforms required * Experience with ETL and source-to-target mapping techniques and data migration * Ability to analyze health care data and present results * Experience developing and managing SSRS reports preferred * Experience as DBA preferred *MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:* · The Application Developer designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains complex (SQL) ETL functions, stored procedures and complex queries for custom solutions with limited direction. · Performs sourcecode/versioning management function adhering to technical guidelines. · Lead and coordinate code/peer reviews of focused development work to insure it aligns to the business and technical requirements. · Provides administrative, application development, and unit testing for complex projects (and support issues). · Provides application development services for support and projects that align to the software development lifecycles, organizational governance policies, and industry best practices. · Collaborates with application and project team(s) to define design and unit testing scenarios and scripts in alignment with business and system requirements. · Participates in or leads application development activities for a single functional area to achieve project objectives. · Develops and applies business knowledge in one or more functional areas. · Responsible for collaborating with the program team including business analyst and data analyst to resolve gaps in CI design specifications and · ensuring these decisions are documented. · Produces ETL solutions meeting 100 percent of technical specifications and business requirements according to the established designs.
