Hi, Hopefully this is a simple question. I have an Activity that extends ListActivity in which I populate ListView items from a database. Each row in that list view has a custom defined XML layout, in which there is content consuming the entire width of the row. If I wanted to allow users to act on multiple rows (for example, delete multiple rows via a checkbox by each row), would I have to...
1. Define a checkbox in the row layout xml file myself? This would require that, upon choosing the "delete multiple rows" option I check which rows have a checked checkbox and take action on those. OR 2. Can I somehow use the setChoiceMode(ListView.CHOICE_MODE_MULTIPLE) option? I have only seen examples where this is used with a non- customized ListView. I tried it, but my ListView rows did not change from the default layout (i.e., no checkbox was seen). I assume this is due to my default row layout taking up the full width of the screen already...or is it even possible/advisable to use setChoiceMode() with a custom row layout? I did see some funny behavior when I used setChoiceMode where when I simulated swiping from right to left, the content in my rows started getting jumbled up. Option #1 doesn't seem too difficult, so if that's the best solution I have no problem with that. I was just curious of limitations using the setChoiceMode() method.
