[android-developers] i need help unlocking my phone locked with android device manager

i lost my phone yesterday and locked it with android device manager when i got home,,, my issue with the lock is that ADM accepted a password that was too long for my phone, when i type in the temporary password it stops at 3 characters short. it wont let me change the password, is there a way
