I just had the most frustration developer support experience, ever.
It was like talking to a robot who replies with pre-fabricated replies that
make no sense, whatsoever.

Here's the issue:

1) Set your android device to Spanish language
2) Open the Play Store App
3) Search for the term "Peakhunter" (without the quotes).

One result pops up: Face Finder (See screenshot).

In all other languages I tested (EN, DE, FR, IT, JP) there's no issue with
finding the App by its name.
The app's Title in Spanish is "Peakhunter Registro de Cumbres", that is
what's set in the Store Listing details.
I have no clue, as to why the Play Store app does not find it.

Anyone here had a similar experience like this?

Cheers,
Philipp

Thanks for your response and I’m also sorry about the inconvenience caused
by this and I appreciate the frustration of having to do this testing and
taking a significant time out of your day to look into this. We have also
done extensive work and testing on our side to see if we could find a cause
of your issue.

The Google search algorithm may cause your app not to appear in some
searches. This works across title, publisher and app descriptions. It's
not easy to refine the search results so that Peakhunter always shows up in
all your search results, so it may be the case that for some locations and
phones the app may not be visible, I’m again very sorry for this and the
difficulties this has caused in marketing your app.
The Google search algorithm and these details of these weights and values
are a proprietary information, however you can work to improve your app’s
visibility by:

 - Building a lasting and meaningful experience for your users

- Maintaining and improving your app through regular updates

- Encouraging users to provide feedback in the form of ratings and comments

- Providing great customer service by responding to your users and
addressing issues

Just to let you know we will show a limited number of search results in
Google Play to ensure the best user experience. Keep in mind, however,
that your app is always available by direct link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sichtwerk.peakhunter,
which you can share with users as you actively market your app.

To help make your app more visible you could promote your app with a paid
AdWords campaign through the Play Developer Console. These app promotion
ads can show across many Google ad networks including Google Search,
YouTube, and websites and apps that are part of the Google Display Network.

You can learn how to set up a Universal App Campaign in our help center.

I again am sorry for the inconvenience caused by this and please let me
know if you have any other questions.

I'm again very sorry about this however there has already been significant
internal discussion about your issue.

I can confirm as you mentioned that if you recommend users search for your
app’s name in quotes (i.e. "app name") our search engine will look for that
exact combination of words and will improve your apps visibility on the
Google Play Store.
