*Job Overview:*

The Sr. Database Developer is responsible for expert knowledge in analysis,
design, documentation, development, unit testing, and support of database
objects development software applications.  The Sr. Database Developer must
be able to standardize all database related objects and processes, while
holding the entire team accountable for following standards by providing
support and guidance regarding T-SQL best practices and development
standards; follow approved agile methodologies, leading the design and
development efforts for the agile team; create system monitoring solutions
to be always aware of system performance; and take initiative to improve
quality, maintainability and performance of the system.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

   -          Design and develop scalable, performance aware database
   objects and supporting database markup language (DML) scripts (i.e., stored
   procedures, indexes, views, functions, data manipulation);
   -          Perform business requirements analysis and translate to
   technical design.  Create and propose technical design through technical
   documentation and technical conversations;
   -          Design, develop and deploy reports to SSRS;
   -          Design, develop and deploy ETL processes through SSIS
   procedures;
   -          Maintain and regularly update database coding standards.
   Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to all application development
   team members of standards and best practices;
   -          Create performance monitor solutions to report daily, weekly
   and monthly performance of all DML.   Use reports to performance tune DML
   to improve application performance;
   -          Author database test harness to support developers and QA
   engineers, unit-test cases, and automated tests;
   -          Work beyond scheduled hours as required, in particular around
   releases; travel; and
   -          Handle additional related projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

   -          BA/BS degree required;
   -          Minimum five years’ experience with MS SQL Server 2008/2014
   development including ETL;
   -          At least 2 years of technical experience, developing and
   supporting business applications;
   -          Microsoft certifications (i.e., MCSA, MCDBA);
   -          Advanced knowledge of T-SQL including complex SQL queries
   (ex: using various joins and sub-queries) T-SQL performance tuning
   techniques and best practices;
   -          Familiarity with RDBMS principles, database design and
   normalization;
   -          Experience with advanced query design, stored procedures,
   views and functions;
   -          Experience working with C# / .NET technologies. Strong
   understanding and experience working in a MS Full Stack environment;
   -          Demonstrate proficient understanding of OLTP, OLAP, Data
   Warehouse and BI best practices. Must have experience working with
   replication, log shipping, offload batch processing, and process queues;
   -          Must be able to effectively communicate technical information
   to both technical and non-technical personnel;
   -          Exposure to Database Administration i.e., Replication,
   Backup\Restore strategies, Clustering, Log-shipping a plus;
   -          Demonstrated technical leadership, attention to detail and
   maintaining high quality standards is a must;
   -          Experience managing timelines and task priorities- Strong
   quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication
   and interpersonal skills are required;
   -          Strong interpersonal skills - must be able to work
   effectively as part of a project team and foster team co-operation;
   -          Assist in maintaining database development standards and
   performing code-reviews to ensure best-practices are followed; and
   -          Experience with Application Lifecycle Management software
   (e.g., TFS, Clearcase/Clearquest, JIRA).
