Unfortunately you will find that they are indeed coming from different

No, I don't hate you and not going to. If this discussion took place from
your side entirely in earnest as it looks like, I don't think anybody would

To me it looks like you have been sent here to spread FUD. You have not

Mark,
Your point on Kindle/Amazon and other 3rd party libraries are making me
thinking my map provider over... I'll probably look around alternatives to
see how it works...

Just a quick note to say that in Vietnam, Google Maps for Android gives me
maps less than 6 months old. Vietnam is a very fast growing country and
landscape changes barely on a weekly basis. The maps are pretty accurate.
I'll try to do some http level sniffing to see if the web uses the sames

No, I am attempting to determine how you have concluded that the maps
are 7 years old.

Maps on Windows Phone 7 and they are excellent and up to date but, for
some reason Bing Maps for Android is not getting any support - they
look dead.

Mark,
Sorry, I didn't make my question clear...
If the maps are over 7 years old they are useless. that means that
any android app that uses them is useless. I call that giving up.
This issue just doesn't make any sense. Why would google not want to
have compelling android mapping apps??
Gary
There are libraries for OSM and even (gasp!) Bing Maps.
