In case people don't know this, you can create a product web site
with facebook that you don't have to be a facebook member to see. You
do have to have a facebook account yourself, and if someone wants to
post or discuss, they have to have accounts. It's a perfectly usable
place to share general

So what about all the people NOT on facebook?
No matter how that thing is growing, the complementary
group is still the majority.

If you always say its a security update then any User would be foolish not
to get the update ;) :D
Down side of that is Users would think you've got a track record of
consistent security flaws, might think you're Adobe and not to be trusted :(

No
Here's my entry into an external site for my apps:
http://chriswstewart.com/android-applications/ While it's not the best
thing in the world, it's certainly better than the Android Market
descriptions. I'll toss up some screenshots and likely QA from email
questions I've received recently.
Also consider making a Facebook page. I've done this for my Zen Timer
app and it's been pretty successful:

Great input everyone. I'm in the process of setting something up for my
main app, even if it's mostly used to provide a manual and a general QA of

To market your app, feel free to checkout 'AppFriend for Facebook' on
Android Market. It's gotten quite a bit of usage from users and from looking

I don't think a website is the greatest way to promote your app.
It's hard to turn a person browsing the internet to install an app to
their phone.
The barcode method makes it a bit easier, but still the conversion
rate isn't that great.
However, having a website is pretty necessary in my

I have one for my Radar Now! website called (strangely enough)

The site has basic data and screen shots, a map showing where users
are located, statistics about OS's and devices and a change log for
versions. I also use it for some social type content, such as (my)
It has been pointed out that there's a need for developers of Android
Apps to garner trust in Users potential Users (e.g. Users must trust
the developer to not abuse their private information). I believe that
having a website for an App will help towards that. It shows an extra
