I recently got a tablet which didn't have inbuilt 3g or calling support. But on checking the internet, I found a 3g dongle in the net that had voice and messaging support in addition to 3g data services e1731. Now the manufacturer of this dongle provides drivers for making calls from a pc. I'm pretty sure that there ain't android or native Linux drivers for this. But my tablet manufacturer marks this dongle as a supported one. My question is much related to whether android has built-in detection capabilities for gsm voice and data devices connected through USB port. If so what are the additional things, that I'll have to do inorder to get a dialer in working condition. If not, please provide your suggestions on what can be done to bring such a feature to a device.
