I am badly stuck at adding sdk components from Android SDK and AVD
Manager in order to install sdk platform tools.
Under Available Packages tab, when we check the repository link
present there, it says

If the problem persists, it may be an issue with some proxy server
between you and the Google servers. That URL is returning a valid XML
for me at the moment.
All I can suggest is to try it again.
