I have downloaded eclipse, the android SDK starter package, and
installed the "Developer Tools." Following the guide on
developer.android.com exactly. After the developer tools have
installed, and eclipse restarts I get two error messages:

you're using r8.
If you can't make it to work, I would download the full r9 packages
from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html, use the SDK Updater
to get platform-tools r2 and the HC preview componet and docs, but

Started installing the new sdk tools and the like. I couldn't get it to work
in eclipse as it said something had a lock on the platform-tools folder.
Checked in proccessexplorer and both eclipse and adb had locks. Force closed
adb but eclipse kept the lock and couldn't finish install. Might be j
jus check in the options i don remember it correctly as i did it a long
time backjust look for a check box that says force download in the avd
manager... then try downloading,,,guess it should do the trick
