People in other threads here have complained about isUserAMonkey throwing an exception but I couldn't find a bug report about it. I was able to demonstrate the behavior on a Motorola Droid and also created a workaround, which can be found on b.android.com at issue 12166. It would be nice if people testing on other devices would update the bug to verify that the workaround is effective on other hardware beside mine.
